Visitors are transported back to the 16th century at the nation's largest and most acclaimed Renaissance theme park which has become popular for its turkey legs, authentic mead, jousting, and live entertainment. Established in 1974, the Texas Renaissance Festival is an immersive experience featuring over 400 shoppes with works by artists and master crafters, award-winning food and drink from a variety of lands and cultures, hand-powered rides and games, and over 100 interactive characters throughout the season including clowns, jugglers, magicians, acrobats, comedians, and more. The daily Grande Marche Parade originates at the Globe Stage and travels throughout the festival each midday while TRF After Dark offers a fan-favorite costume gala for visitors 21 and older with late-night music, dancing, themed contests, drinks, food, and more. Camping is available for tents and RVs, and festival guests may also rent costumes at the rental shop located outside the front gate.
