John Wayne: An American Experience to Present Inaugural Ladies Night

Join the women of the Wayne family on September 8, 2023, to celebrate fashion, fun, and the cowgirl lifestyle.

John Wayne: An American Experience to Present Inaugural Ladies Night

All North Texas cowgirls should collect their posse and mosey on over to John Wayne: An American Experience on Friday, September 8 for the first in a planned Ladies Night series. From 2 p.m. - 7 p.m., the award-winning destination will celebrate fashion, fun and the cowgirl lifestyle with its inaugural event.

American Paint, the hat purveyor created by The Duke's granddaughter Jennifer Wayne, will do a fun hat pop up from 2-7 p.m. The Nashville-based brand was launched in 2022 by Wayne, who is also a part of country music band Runaway June.

The women of the Wayne family will be on hand to meet fans as well. Marisa Wayne, daughter of the acclaimed actor, as well as granddaughter Anita La Cava Swift will be inside the exhibit signing books from 4-6 p.m., including the John Wayne Official Cocktail Book and America: Why I Love Her.*

If you want to customize your cowgirl style, there will be an embroidery station for custom bandanas and shirts all day long. And Duke Spirits, the award-winning line of liquors created to honor John Wayne, will host a cocktail bar to keep the party moving.

Ten percent of all sales during the Ladies Night event will go to benefit the John Wayne Cancer Foundation, the charity created by the Wayne family to honor the actor's dying wishes.

Sprawling over 10,000 square feet, the John Wayne: An American Experience exhibit is structured to give guests an intimate tour of the life of John Wayne. Starting with his early childhood and career, each room highlights an aspect of The Duke's legacy. For film aficionados, an extensive gallery called Life on Screen highlights the most iconic film props and costumes. In the America, Why I Love Her gallery, guests can immerse themselves in patriotism through Grammy-nominated original poems recited by John Wayne.

Patrons of the exhibit have exclusive access to never-before-seen family photos and correspondences that have been thoughtfully curated by the Wayne family to give guests a holistic view of the icon, whose values translate both on and off the silver screen.
