The curtain drops and presto, just like that, The Illusionists reappear at Dallas Summer Musicals impressively encompassed in an elaborate metal cage positioned in midair onstage at the Music Hall at Fair Park. This next-generation magic show features colorful lighting, fast-paced action, five stylishly-dressed assistants with hot dance moves, and awe-inspiring performances by seven remarkable illusionists including:
Jeff Hobson
The Trickster
A fabulously-sparkly blend of acting, magic, and comedy that keeps audiences laughing throughout his entire act, this hilarious emceeing entertainer known for more than 15 years as the host of Las Vegas
has performed over 20,000 times worldwide during the span of his career.
Andrew Basso
The Escapologist
Holding his breath underwater for over 2½ minutes while picking locks and making his way to freedom, Italy's star escape artist considers Harry Houdini his hero and is the only person in the world to perform Houdini's famous Water Torture Cell in plain view with no covers whatsoever.
Kevin James
The Inventor
Whether wielding a chainsaw or transforming a tissue into a rose, this innovative creator of some of the most celebrated illusions in the last century has performed at the White House and has had some of his ideas included in shows like Penn & Teller, David Copperfield, and Doug Henning.
Colin Cloud
The Deductionist
Considered to be the closest thing to a real-life younger Sherlock Holmes, Scotland's stage mentalist seems to read minds with ease as he calls on random members of the audience (including, on Wednesday night, local television host Ron Corning) to assist with some mind-bending tricks.
An Ha Lim
The Manipulator
With a stack of magic awards under his belt, the first place winner of the Korea Busan International Magic Competition (2006), Italy Club Convention Manipulation (2006), World Magic Seminar in Asia (2007), and more has several card tricks up his sleeve – even when those sleeves are pushed all the way up.
Jonathan Goodwin
The Daredevil
With acts that are not illusions at all but instead very real, the British-born stuntman is considered to be the greatest theatrical daredevil in the world and shoots the arrows of a crossbow toward his target while blindfolded and listening only to the sound of a ringing bell for guidance.
Dan Sperry
The Anti-Conjuror
A legendary appearance on America's Got Talent
during which he grossed out Howie Mandel created millions of hits on YouTube for this social media phenomenon (described as Marilyn Manson meets David Copperfield) who combines magic and the macabre for a bizarre blend of comedy and shock illusion.
