A Tent

First Aid Kit

A well-stocked first-aid kit can deal with the majority of medical needs when you're camping. You'll need plasters, bandages, antiseptic, gauze and scissors. An emergency whistle is also a good idea in case you get into trouble. Brush up on your emergency first aid knowledge before you go too.

A Multitool

A good multitool is a great addition to any camping trip. It's light but packs so many useful gadgets including knives, screwdrivers, scissors, and files.

A Flashlight

If you are walking at night, or need to find your way around your campsite after dark, then you're going to need a good flashlight. Find a small, portable, but powerful one that will give you maximum visibility in the dark. You might even look at getting one you can attach to your jacket or hat, that way your hands will be free.
