From short jaunts using electricity to long journeys utilizing hybrid options, this mid-size SUV represents commitment to innovation.
The first-ever 2025 Mazda CX-70 has entered the mid-size market segment as the Japanese automaker's largest, most spacious two-row crossover SUV. Introduced in January 2024, this two-row variant of the CX-90 features some styling differences but retains the same bodywork, body length, and engine options. Designed to cater to a discerning, active, and engaged customer base, the CX-70 brings together luxury, performance, and cutting-edge technology in an impressive package.
Exhilarating Electrification
Mazda has long been recognized for its commitment to delivering vehicles with exceptional driving dynamics, and the 2025 CX-70 PHEV Premium Plus is no exception. With a driver-centric design intention, the mid-size crossover SUV provides refined driving dynamics, sporty styling, and generous cargo space. The hybrid-only lineup features a range of powertrains, all with some form of electrification, ensuring that every drive is both powerful and economical. The CX-70 PHEV is equipped with Mazda's e-SkyActiv G 2.5L I4 engine, which delivers an impressive 323 combined system horsepower at 6000 rpm and 369 lb-ft of net torque. This powertrain offers the best of both worlds, with user-selectable electrification that allows for all-electric power on trips up to 26 miles and the flexibility of a gas/electric hybrid powertrain for longer journeys. The standard i-ACTIV AWD system provides a rear-biased all-wheel-drive experience, whether using electric or hybrid power. Supported by Mazda Intelligent Drive Select (Mi-Drive), drivers can easily switch between Sport, Off-Road, Towing, and EV modes, depending on their driving conditions.
Standout Styling
The aggressive appearance of teh CX-70 is immediately noticeable, with a wide and low front fascia and chiseled front end along with available black metal and machine-cut finished 21-inch wheels that further enhance its commanding presence and give the vehicle a great stance even when parked. Mazda has also introduced an emboldened color palette for the CX-70, including popular options like Soul Red Crystal Metallic and Zircon Sand Metallic, as well as a new offering in Melting Copper Metallic. This rich, vibrant shade blends earth tones with a touch of orange, making the CX-70 stand out in any setting.
Intuitive Interior
The interior cabin is strategically designed with both comfort and usability in mind. From its noteable trim and front and rear fascia design to the available Nappa leather-trimmed seats, the CX-70 PHEV details reflect traditional Japanese craftsmanship. The Premium Plus package takes luxury to the next level, offering Nappa leather in either black or red, an eight-way power-adjustable passenger seat, ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, heated rear seats, and extended leather throughout the dashboard with black or red stitching. To ensure that customers can efficiently engage with their hobbies and passions, the CX-70 is equipped with new remote-folding rear seats for easier loading, an optimized cargo storage area with hooks for bags, and a unique sub-trunk design perfect for stowing valuables out of sight. The CX-70's innovative Kinematic Posture Control (KPC) technology, which suppresses body lift on tight corners to enhance stability and help all occupants maintain a natural posture, is standard on all models. Originally developed for the MX-5 Miata, this technology ensures that the CX-70 delivers a smooth and controlled ride, even during dynamic driving.
Touch-Free Techonolgy
Mazda has equipped the 2025 CX-70 PHEV Premium Plus with the latest technology including the available Active Driving Display which projects essential information directly onto the windshield thereby allowing drivers to keep their eyes on the road while staying informed. This feature is complemented by a standard 12.3-inch infotainment system, which uses Mazda's latest software and is controlled via a knob and buttons on the center console. Premium trims and above come with a 12-speaker Bose stereo system, delivering exceptional sound quality for all passengers. The CX-70's sense of utility and functionality is further enhanced with several new assistance technologies, including Cruising & Traffic Support, an emergency-only system that automatically decelerates and stops the vehicle if the driver becomes unresponsive to escalating alerts. The CX-70 is Mazda's first crossover to feature standard integration of Alexa Built-in, allowing drivers to control everything from the temperature to smart home devices with simple voice commands. Additional driver assistance features like Smart Brake Support Rear, Front Cross Traffic Alert, and a 360&dg; View Monitor with See-Through View and Trailer Hitch View are also available, making the CX-70 as safe as it is luxurious.
From short jaunts using electric power to long journeys utilizing hybrid options, the 2025 Mazda CX-70 PHEV Premium Plus represents the pinnacle of Mazda's commitment to luxury, performance, and innovation. With its sophisticated design, exhilarating performance, and cutting-edge technology, the CX-70 is perfectly positioned to meet the needs of discerning drivers seeking a mid-size crossover SUV that offers more than just transportation; it offers a tailored driving experience.
