The compact executive sedan can be aptly described using nicknames from the all-female band Spice Girls.
After bounding into the scene in 1996 with their debut single Wannabe,
the all-female pop band Spice Girls hit number one in over 30 countries instantly becoming a global phenomenon and eventually the best-selling female group of all time. Similarly, when the Kia Stinger officially debuted at the 2017 NAIAS, it was immediately crystal clear that the compact executive 5-door fastback was much more than just a crowd-pleasing pretty face. Exhibiting many of the same traits exemplified by the nicknames assumed by each member of the girl band, the Stinger is simultaneously posh
and sporty,
with a host of other complimentary monikers to boot.
Posh Spice | Elegant Design
A contemporary interpretation of the gran turismos of the 1970s, the Stinger is considered to be the flawless embodiment of Kia's design philosophy. Using straight lines to represent precision and distinctiveness, this uber-attractive vehicle with head-turning style represents the much-anticipated manifestation of a longstanding dream for the brand. Kia combines simple shapes, a delicate interior, and exterior details to create a strong emphasis on balance and proportion that elicit a sense of passion.
Sporty Spice | Powerful Performance
As the first fastback sedan made by a Korean manufacturer, this natural-born spotlight stealer is designed for both high-speed and long-distance driving. The Stinger delivers a powerful combination of luxury attributes and aggressive performance, making Kia's highest-performing sport sedan a worthy competitor in the sport sedan market segment. Adrenaline-inducing GT versions are powered by a twin turbocharged 3.3 liter V6 which delivers up to 365 horsepower and hops up from 0-60 mph in as little as 4.7 seconds.
Baby Spice | Optimum Safety
From infants to adults, safety is an essential consideration; so Kia now offers blind spot collision warning and rear cross traffic collision warning as a standard feature across all trims as well as a variety of additional standard driver assistance systems on Premium, GT1, and GT2 trims. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has deemed this year's Stinger a Top Safety Pick Plus (TSP+) when equipped with optional forward collision-avoidance assist with pedestrian detection and LED headlights.
No detail was too small to be obsessed over during the Stinger's development process,
said Michael Cole, chief operating officer and EVP, Kia Motors America. Stinger was engineered to be the fastest and highest-performing vehicle in Kia's history, undergoing the company's most intense R&D effort to date; but it also continues Kia's tradition of offering advanced collision avoidance systems. Earning another TSP+ award is just one more piece of evidence demonstrating our commitment to 'Give it everything.'
Ginger Spice | Vivid Color
The Stinger's palette of color options is simultaneously youthful yet classic, and the modern method utilized to achieve those colors is no doubt avant-garde. A bold selection of vibrant exterior colors includes the popular High Chroma Red which is enhanced by a silver powder coating that reflects light for a deeper-looking color along with a red-clear coating to make the color even more saturated. Rich interior tones, upscale surfaces, and heated leather seats further complement the look and feel of the design execution, and the car's long wheel base creates spaciousness within the cabin and provides generous cargo storage space. Premium amenities like the available Sun and Sound package give VIP appeal with the addition of a sunroof, navigation with 8-inch touchscreen, Harman/Kardon 720-watt audio, and LED headlamps.
Scary Spice | Act Now
With the belief that driving is less about arriving at the destination and more about the journey, Kia has instilled soul into its brand with Stinger's value-based price tag, stylish design, advanced technology, driver-assist features, and luxurious creature comforts.
So, missing out on the opportunity to own one of these red-hot chart-toppers ... now that's Scary Spice.
