This refreshed midsize luxury sedan puts sophistication in motion by blending audacity, progressiveness, and Korean design.
Watch any of the countless fashion influencers online these days, and you'll quickly see them demonstrate how a few well-chosen finishing touches can instantly elevate style and transform a look. Whether it's the perfect scarf, a timeless handbag, or a pair of statement shoes, these accessories can make all the difference in pulling an outfit together. Similarly, many automotive designers hold the belief that true beauty and sophistication stem from the seamless integration of details that balance form and function. Genesis embodies this philosophy through its Athletic Elegance
design ethos defined by audacity, innovation, and distinctly Korean aesthetics. Guiding every aspect of their design and product planning, this vision comes to life in the 2025 Genesis G80, where a striking silhouette and meticulously crafted interior converge to create a vehicle that is not only a visual stunner but also a testament to thoughtful engineering. Gorgeous both inside and out, the refreshed Genesis G80 stands out as a well-appointed, well-equipped, and compellingly priced contender in the midsize luxury sedan segment.
Just like how shoes make or break an entire look, it's no exaggeration to say that wheels complete the overall design of a vehicle. That's why as a brand and as a team, we're dead serious about wheel designs.

Practical Enhancements
Continuing to deliver the brand's uniquely beautiful signature design elements, the 2025 Genesis G80 integrates contemporary style with practical enhancements that improve both its appearance and performance. At the front, the redesigned Crest Grille features a dual-weave G-Matrix pattern, providing a distinct and attention-grabbing element. The G80 is also equipped with Two-Line headlamps, now incorporating Micro Lens Array (MLA) technology, which enhances both visibility and the vehicle's streamlined look. The side profile showcases 20-inch, five double-spoke wheels, contributing to the car's athletic yet refined character. At the rear, the new bumper's three-dimensional contours offer a more stable appearance, while a V-shaped chrome trim, inspired by the Crest Grille, replaces the previous model's mufflers. In terms of performance, the 2025 G80 still offers two engine options: the 2.5-liter turbocharged engine producing 304 horsepower and 311 lb-ft of torque as well as the 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 which delivers 380 horsepower and 391 lb-ft of torque. Both powertrains are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive as well as advanced technologies including frequency-sensitive shock absorbers that adjust to road conditions for improved comfort. New sound-absorbing tires, enhanced noise-reduction features, and structural optimizations further enhance the driving experience by minimizing residual vibrations, road feedback, and wind noise.
Creature Comforts
The interior cabin merges cutting-edge technology with luxurious materials to create a refined and tranquil driving environment. The standout feature is a 27-inch OLED display that stretches across the reworked dashboard, seamlessly integrating the instrument cluster and infotainment system for a sleek, modern look intentionally crafted to demonstrate a sense of harmony between advanced technology and tradition. High-quality materials such as diamond-stitched leather upholstery, real open-pore wood trim, and aluminum garnishes accent the cabin's sophisticated layout, while a redesigned three-spoke steering wheel and a new seamless center fascia contribute to a streamlined horizontal appearance with crash pad design. The center console includes an electronic shift dial (Shift By Wire) and a UV-C LED compartment for sanitizing personal items, as well as built-in heating for the armrest to provide extra comfort during cold weather. The G80 also boasts high-caliber premium audio with a new Bang & Olufsen speaker system, while improved ambient mood lighting also now utilizes brightness to cover a larger surface area in order to cultivate a serene atmosphere. With a variety of five different interior color options and strategically thoughtful design improvements, the G80's roomy interior is a blend of high-tech luxury and practical comfort that steadfastly remains faithful to the Korean concept of the Beauty of White Space which emphasizes the thoughtful use of space, simplicity, and balance to create harmony and evoke emotion.
Trim Levels
The 2025 Genesis G80 offers a range of trim levels to suit various preferences, each with its own unique features and performance enhancements. The entry-level 2.5T AWD starts at $57,100 and offers 300 horsepower, leatherette seating surfaces, and an 18-inch alloy wheel setup, along with a 27-inch OLED instrument cluster and navigation system. Stepping up, the 2.5T Advanced AWD, priced at $61,900, adds 19-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, and the premium Bang & Olufsen audio system. The 2.5T Sport Prestige AWD, starting at $68,350, takes things further with leather seating, 20-inch sport alloy wheels, and a surround view monitor for added convenience and style. For those seeking more power, the 3.5T Sport Advanced AWD, priced at $69,600, comes with a 375-horsepower engine, 19-inch sport alloy wheels, and a 27-inch OLED instrument cluster, making it the perfect balance of performance and technology. Finally, the 3.5T Sport Prestige AWD, the top-tier trim at $77,000, offers all the features of the Sport Advanced but upgrades to 20-inch sport alloy wheels, Nappa leather seating surfaces, and a carbon fiber trim for a more refined, dynamic appearance.
Technically Speaking
The G80 offers a host of advanced technology and cutting-edge safety features that autonomously assesses the driving environment and take proactive measures to prevent accidents in order to enhance both convenience and protection for drivers and passengers. One of the standout innovations is the 3-Zone Climate Control, which now allows rear-seat passengers to independently adjust the cabin temperature, offering a personalized experience for everyone in the vehicle. Additionally, the G80's dual 14.6-inch smart monitors, paired with a vehicle-mounted 5G modem, provide rear passengers with easy access to online streaming services. For added convenience, the G80 includes the Remote Smart Parking Assist 2 (RSPA 2) system, allowing the vehicle to autonomously park itself in tight spaces, taking the hassle out of parking. This is complemented by the Front/Side/Rear Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist (PCA-F/S/R), which works to avoid potential collisions when parking. With additional features like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Digital Key 2, Fingerprint Authentication, and a rear-seat 14.6-inch display, the G80 seamlessly blends safety, convenience, and high-tech luxury. When it comes to safety, the G80 is equipped with a robust suite of driver-assistance technologies. The Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist 2 system helps prevent accidents by recognizing pedestrians, cyclists, and vehicles approaching from the side or crossing at intersections. This system works in tandem with collision-avoidance steering to help steer the vehicle away from potential dangers. The G80 also features Lane Keeping Assist 2, which ensures the vehicle stays centered in its lane, while Hands On Detection uses grip sensors to monitor the driver's hands on the wheel, enhancing the effectiveness of the car's driver-assistance systems.
Low-Bake Paints
Genesis's commitment to innovation extends to embracing forward-thinking advancements in manufacturing. The 2025 G80 benefits from Hyundai Motor Group's revolutionary low-bake paint technology—a process that significantly reduces carbon emissions and energy consumption. Unlike traditional methods requiring high-temperature baking at 180°C, this innovative approach uses urethane-based coatings that cure at just 80-90°C. This not only cuts energy use but also allows metals and plastics to be painted simultaneously, enhancing efficiency and minimizing waste. By refining one of the most resource-intensive steps in car production, Genesis proves that luxury and environmental responsibility can go hand in hand.
Much like a well-tailored suit or a perfectly chosen accessory, the 2025 Genesis G80 is purposefully designed to create a balanced and impactful whole. From the bold exterior updates to the meticulously appointed interior, the G80 is a strong example of design and engineering working in harmony. It strikes a just-right balance between athleticism and sophistication, resulting in a refined product that stands out in its segment with precision, thoughtful design, and the confidence that comes from getting it just right.
In the News
Source: Genesis | Nowhere is the impact of the redesigned Electrified G80 felt more strongly than in the back row. Three years after its initial launch in 2021, Genesis' latest electric vehicle (EV) comes with a longer wheelbase than its predecessor, resulting in extra legroom and headroom in the rear seats. Bohyun Park, Senior Research Engineer at the Genesis Engineering Solutions Team, explains how a steadfast obsession with creating a more comfortable ride led to the upgrades, and what the future holds for the brand's flagship EV sedan. Some of our customers who purchased the previous Electrified G80 said they would have liked more space and convenience features in the second row. And that's probably because the EV model was built on the same platform as its internal combustion engine (ICE) counterpart, the Genesis G80. So when we started planning for the redesigned Electrified G80, our first and foremost priority was to maximize comfort in the rear seats, targeting VIPs. Hence, we stretched the wheelbase by 130 millimeters and added more features such as power reclining seats, Ergo Motion technology, electric door curtains, wireless charging pads and EasyClose [which enables passengers to conveniently open and close their doors with a push of a button on the rear console armrest, door trim or front center console]. Adding more room in the cabin by simply enlarging the body is easy. What's not easy is adding more room in the cabin and creating a comfortable, user-friendly space all the while perfecting our brand's design philosophy, Athletic Elegance.
