How to Organize a Party at Home and Enjoy It

Need to know how to organize a party at home and simultaneoulsy enjoy it? Celebrating a special occasion such as a birthday, an achievement, or just meeting friends is always a good reason to meet. But since you'll want to have everything right from the furniture to the tablecloth linens, preparations can sometimes generate a bit of stress. Instead of relaxing and having fun, you end up having a hard time and not wanting to party anymore. Consider these tips on things to handle without having to delegate the organization.

The Space

Try not to invite more people than you can receive. If the party is going to last several hours, it is better to have some chairs or armchairs so that the guests will be comfortable in the space. Will the meeting be in an open space? Can your space accommodate your party supplies? Have a plan B in case of rain.

The Invitations

If you want to organize your event well, create online invitations for your event one month or 15 days in advance. You can share it with your friends by mail or through social networks so that nobody forgets your event. In addition to the reason for celebration (with date and time), you can include directions on how to get home. You can also incorporate the option that your guests are visible as they confirm presence, which can generate a better call. Keep in mind (so as not to despair and believe that no one will come) that the guests will usually arrive between half an hour after the start time you indicate.

Food

If you are going to prepare food, it is much more practical to serve finger foods or something that people can eat with their hands such as hor d'oeuvres, snacks, sandwiches, etc. Pizza is also a good option, especially when made on small slices of French bread and topped with an attractive garnish. It is also good to add something sweet at the end such as cookies, cake, tarts, lemon bars, or candies of some type. It will always be easier to clean later if you use disposable tableware and utensils such as tablecloths, glasses, plates, casseroles, forks, skewers, napkins, etc.

Drinks

If you are going to buy the drinks at the supermarket or ask the guests to collaborate, think about how you will keep them cold since they can almost never all fit inside the refrigerator. To keep drinks cool during the encounter, fill a large bowl with water, a little ice, and some coarse salt. The general rule of thumb for non-alcoholic beverages is calculated at approximately half a liter per person, although if it is hot, guests ted to drink much more in general.

Music

Like the lighting of the place, music is something essential at the time of a party because it creates a nice climate and good ambience. Once you know who the guests will be and you know more or less their tastes, you have to decide whether the primary purpose of the music will be for dancing or will simply be used more subtly in the background. Based on this, you can choose which genre you prefer and the volume at which you will put it. A computer connected to a console with speakers can be ideal when it comes to music since you can program lists or simply have a series of songs to be played one after another.

Entertainment

Many times we want to invite friends from different fields and all guests may not have known each other previously. Therefore, some may feel uncomfortable or awkward and consequently may not talk to each other. No matter the age, an activity that can unify the guests is to make games. Some activities you can propose are: say it with mimicry, giant Pictionary, karaoke, question and answer games, or riddles. Prizes for the winners can be an excellent reason for them to want to participate. Try it at your next party and you will see how the guests enjoy it.

Remember that you can always hire someone for some or all of these activities; but, in addition to saving enough money, organizing a party at home and enjoying it to the fullest can be a fun reward of its own.
