Designated as the Official Bluebonnet City of Texas and home of the Official Texas Bluebonnet Trail, Ennis showcases over 40 miles of mapped driving Bluebonnet Trails sponsored by the Ennis Garden Club. Along the oldest such trails known in the state, bluebonnets typically peak annually around the third week of April. The festival itself features food, a beer garden, a wine wander, shopping, and live entertainment throughout the weekend. Additional activities include art and craft exhibitions, variety of vendors, bluebonnet souvenirs, and nearby railroad and cultural heritage museum.
