Located in Somervell County just northwest of Glen Rose, Dinosaur Valley State Park is home to some of the best preserved dinosaur tracks in the world. The park is open year round; but since the tracks are found in a riverbed, the best time to visit is in the summertime when the river level is relatively low. Two fiberglass dinosaur models, a 70-foot Apatosaurus and a 45-foot Tyrannosaurus Rex, also exist on the grounds; and additional activities include camping, hiking, swimming, fishing, horseback riding, wildlife observations, and more.
