10 Things to Like About the 2015 Toyota Camry XLE

Claiming the top spot on this year’s American-Made Index by Cars.com, the Toyota Camry gives consumers so many features to like that it’s been the best-selling car in the United States for 13 consecutive years. Ranking at the pinnacle of individual vehicles with at least 75 percent domestic content, the newly-updated Camry comes out of Toyota’s largest manufacturing facility in North America, Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Kentucky, Inc. (TMMK), which built its 10-millionth vehicle in 2014.

Optional Moonroof

Camry’s available power tilt/slide moonroof with one-touch open/close and jam protection is offered as part of an option package which allowed us to enjoy the warm sunlight, overhead scenery, gentle breeze, and starlit evening sky.

Detailed Interior

The sporty yet elegant interior of the XLE is highlighted by quality stitching on upholstery and panels along with wood-grain-style interior trim accents at key touch points. The eight-way power-adjustable driver's seat gives power lumbar support while a leather-trimmed tilt/telescopic steering wheel houses hands-free phone and audio controls.

Climate-Controlled Seating

Dual zone automatic climate control with custom temperature settings, rear-seat vents, and air filter comes standard on the XLE and helped in keeping everyone comfortable. Leather-trimmed multi-stage heated front seats also offer a warm respite when it’s chilly outside.

Spacious Passenger Area

Sculpted cutaways in the seats and interior panels help provide more knee and leg room for rear passengers, and a headliner shaped for greater head room throughout the cabin definitely presents a more spacious feel.

The 15.4 cubic feet of trunk volume easily held our golf clubs and luggage as we travelled, although longer items can also be swiftly accommodated when the 60/40-split folding backseats are employed.

Cell Phone Convenience

The Camry graciously provides two extremely convenient cell phone storage locations that are easily accessible in the center console area. Handy USB ports are quickly reachable in an enclosed bin in front of the shifter, and a wireless charging pad lets you simply place your Qi-compatible device on the nonslip surface to charge up wirelessly.

Accessible Drink Storage

We don’t always order oversized fountain drinks; but when we do, the Camry can certainly store them efficiently. Adjustable cup holders are spaced effectively to allow for sufficient room between large drinks, and vertically-accessible bottle storage in door pockets allowed us to easily slide capped water containers directly into place.

Metallic Exterior Paint

Sparkling stylishly in the midday sunlight, Attitude Metallic Black is one of ten colors which give the Camry’s sculpted body its striking good looks. When also packaged with a chrome-tipped exhaust and standard 17-inch alloy wheels with Super Chrome paint propelled by 2.5-liter 4-cylinder DOHC 16-valve dual VVT-I, Camry conveys a distinctive profile.

Name in Lights

The XLE’s available LED headlights and automatic high beam system certainly light up the road, and the available LED daytime running lights help ensure visibility; but one of our favorite luminary features is the brushed stainless steel door sill enhancements which spell out the Camry name in blue LED illumination thereby giving the car a sleek customized look.

Onscreen Technology

Intuitive fingertip control of information is within reach as Camry’s center stack makes it easy to access music and optional package features like multimedia systems with 7-inch high resolution touch-screen display, Entune premium JBLaudio with navigation, available app suite, and safety technologies which combine to provide an improved driver experience.
