Engineers Make Meaningful Improvements to the 2019 Mazda CX-9

Each model year of Mazda's midsized crossover SUV has benefited from factory refinements year over year, and the upgraded 2019 edition is no different. A host of improvements can be found at all four levels including the entry-level Sport, Touring, Grand Touring, and top-of-the-line flagship Signature trims. Ranging in price from $32,280 to $45,365, each version is equipped with the brand's award-winning SKYACTIV-G 2.5T turbocharged engine paired with a six-speed SKYACTIV-DRIVE automatic transmission which delivers up to 250 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. Front-wheel drive is offered standard on each with the exception of the top-level Signature AWD, although all-wheel drive is available across the board as an added upgrade.

Rear cargo space is a comparatively limited in this otherwise roomy 3-row 7-seat SUV, but the vehicle is noteworthy for its safety features and excellent crash test results which make it an IIHS Top Safety Pick.

Engineered changes in technology also include a list of improvements highlighted by the addition of factory-equipped Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ infotainment technologies which are delivered as standard equipment in the Touring trim level and above. The Grand Touring version adds a reconfigurable 7.0-inch TFT gauge display, new 360-degree View Monitor, and BOSE® 12-speaker surround sound system.
