Review: 2023 KIA Telluride SX-Prestige X-Pro V6

In the fiercely competitive world of SUVs, KIA has once again seized on a market that is growing by leaps and bounds with the unveiling of their latest Telluride packages designed for American buyers who enjoy going off the beaten path. The Telluride X-line and X-pro is a game-changer in the SUV segment. Drawing inspiration from its predecessor, the acclaimed Telluride, this new iteration takes things up a notch in stages. My press loan for the week was the 2023 Telluride SX-Prestige X-Pro AWD. It's a mouthful, I know; but when people stop you and ask what you are driving, do like I did. If you set the X-Pro next to the base model Telluride you would notice the X-Pro features a unique radiator grille design, new rear fascias, higher ground clearance (10mm), raised roof rails, and its 18-inch wheels and Continental All-Terrain tires.

With the addition of all-terrain tires and a raised suspension along with improved approach and departure angles, an upgraded Traction Control System (TCS) ensures that the Telluride X-pro can handle challenging terrains with ease, providing drivers and passengers alike with a thrilling off-road experience. Beyond its impressive ready for off-grid fun looks, the KIA Telluride X-pro is equally remarkable on the inside With a spacious and luxurious cabin that has class-leading second-row legroom and can comfortably seat up to eight passengers or plenty of space for your family and all your weekend camping gear.

There is also a state-of-the-art infotainment system with an upgraded 12.3-inch navigation screen which runs the 10-speaker Harman/Kardon audio system, the in-vehicle Wi-Fi Hotspot that connects up to five devices to 4G LTE-based internet and up to six USB charging ports—two in each row to keep all the devices running. Under the hood, the KIA Telluride X-Pro boasts a powerful and efficient Atkinson Cycle LAMBDA II 3.8L V6 GDI engine that produces 291 horsepower and 262 lb.-ft of torque, when combined with the new and upgraded rigid body structure that is composed of 59.4 percent advanced high-strength steel, is more than enough to tow 5,500lb worth of any fun.
