Restyled 2019 Jeep Renegade is Designed for Adventure

In the highly competitive SUV segment, the 2019 Jeep Renegade is still designed to allow the 4x4 weekend adventure-seeker to push the envelope of fun while providing even more comfort and safety for the weekly commute and grocery-getter tasks. Improved Engine Efficiency

New for 2019, the Renegade Limited 4x4 will come standard with a 1.3L MultiAir® turbo engine with direct injection that delivers up to 177 hp and 210 lb-ft of torque. Those power numbers will allow this 4x4 to zip along at almost 32 mpg and make those long weekend trips to the beach or the mountains a pretty cheap adventure. There are also a couple of other ways the Renegade can produce great mpgs: one is its engine stop/start technology to conserve fuel, and the other is the nine-speed automatic transmission that sets the engine in the proper gear range no matter the power or torque requirements. The week we had it to test drive, we were moving and carrying numerous items that were not only valuable, but potentially breakable. We are happy to say the Renegade performed the week flawlessly zipping in and around the congested city traffic with ease and without needing a gas stop.

Interior for Everyday

The Renegade Limited's interior comes in black or ski grey. My loaner had the black interior with black leather-trimmed seats. The steering wheel and gear shift were wrapped in black leather as well. It was obvious these materials were chosen specifically for the Renegade demographic because the interior would clean up easily from any weekend adventure at the beach or the mountains; and if you couldn't clean up the Renegade before your Monday morning commute, the 'fun' that was had would be less noticeable.

Historical External Styling

For the Jeep purists, the new Jeep Renegade shows its ties to the Jeep Wrangler with the new redesigned front fascia which includes updated headlamps and a seven-slot grill opening. Also paying tribute to the military history, the Jeep Renegade has been designed with an X pattern in the rear tail lights. This is a throwback to the X pattern on WWII Jeep gas cans.

For Off-Road Enthusiasts

For those that will use their Jeep Renegade specifically to look for adventure off the grid, they will be happy to know the Renegade, like all Jeep 4x4 vehicles, has sealed electrical systems, a high air intake, and in some cases available skid plates for additional undercarriage protection. The Renegade has a best-in-class approach and departure angles that were purposely designed to deliver an overall best-in-class off-road capability. The Renegade also offers the Jeep Selec-Terrain system.
