The internationally-known, award-winning, outdoor musical TEXAS is the official play of the state of Texas and has been performed for almost 4 million people over the last 50 years. The talented cast of more than 60 actors, singers, and dancers brings to life a story depicting the struggles and triumphs of the early settlers, cowboys, and Native Americans of the Texas Panhandle in the 1800s.
A lone horseman poised atop a 600-foot cliff in the majestic Palo Duro Canyon State Park signals the beginning of this spectacular musical drama which features exhilarating music and special effects such as a thunderstorm and lightning scene, dancing waters, nightly fireworks show (as conditions permit), and a grand finale that pays tribute to the common man.
Before the show, guests may also choose to take a backstage tour and/or enjoy an old-fashioned chuck wagon dinner in the covered outdoor picnic area.The two-hour show typically runs Tuesday through Sunday, June through mid August.
