Taking place each year in the historic downtown area of the oldest town in Texas, the Texas Blueberry Festival is a day-long celebration of the annual blueberry harvest.

The 28th annual Texas Blueberry Festival presented by Tipton Ford-Lincoln, will be celebrated the second weekend in June. The Nacogdoches County Chamber of Commerce and Nacogdoches Convention and Visitors Bureau are excited to partner with local businesses to extend the weekend to include new events, workshops, demonstrations and more.
Beginning Thursday of festival week, local residents and visitors can take part in the Build a Better Blueberry Crepe workshop hosted by the Nacogdoches Public Library at 5:30 p.m. on June 8 and a workshop to learn how to make fresh fruit body scrubs at the Best Blueberry Body Scrub at 5:30 p.m. on June 9.
On Friday afternoon, take a photo walk with nationally published professional photographer Greg Patterson. The Olde Town Photo Walk attracts visiting shutterbugs with a passion for seeing more of the Oldest Town in Texas. The photo walk will take place from 3-5 p.m., before the Bluegrass concert, where participants will meet at the downtown studio located at 122 N. Mound. The one mile walking tour will visit several historical sites nearby while learning how to capture better photos from any camera. This is a great opportunity for families to enjoy the charm of Nacogdoches in a fun learning environment. The cost is $10 and the event is limited to only 20 participants. Please call the studio to reserve your spot.
After the photo walk, head on over to Festival Park at 6 p.m. for the annual Blueberry Bluegrass Concert presented by Rex Perry Autoplex. This year's family-friendly concert will feature The Purple Hulls, The Baker Family, The Blake Brothers and The Sabine River Bend Band. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and your appetite to enjoy beautiful bluegrass music in the park.
On Saturday June 10, downtown Nacogdoches will be hoping with Texas Blueberry Festival festivities. After a day of eating blueberry pancakes and participating in the blueberry pie eating contest, zip on over to Zip Nac for Blueberry Festival Friend & Family Fun from 2-6 p.m. Race down 900' side-by-side cables for only $10; no reservation required. You can also bring four or more and receive a 25% discount; reservations required.
The fun continues Saturday night following the festival at Fredonia Brewery for Blues & Brew from 6-10 p.m. Sit out on the patio while listening to The Haggertys, enjoy your favorite craft beer and try the featured Blueberry Creme Ale! Then, on Sunday enjoy brunch beginning at 11 a.m. at one of our local eateries.
