North Texas' 16th Century Style tradition returns for its 37th season on April 8, 2017 - it's time for Scarborough Renaissance Festival?! There is interactive fun for everyone at Scarborough Renaissance Festival? as you step back in time to the 16th Century to our 35-acre (re-created) English village celebrating the visit of King Henry VIII and his royal court with a Festival of Entertainment, Artisans, Food and Frivolity in honor of his daughter, Princess Mary.

Scarborough Renaissance Festival? 2017 opens April 8th and will run every Saturday & Sunday (and Memorial Day Monday) for eight consecutive weekends through May 29, 2017.

Enjoy 24 stages of extraordinary non-stop entertainment, full combat jousting, Birds of Prey exhibitions, a human chess match, the Mermaid Lagoon and the 150+ members of our performing company. Discover 200 shoppes of exquisite crafts and be amazed by artisans demonstrating crafts such as glass blowing, stone carving, metal forging, leather works, glass sculpting and weaving. Plus, there are Children's Knighting Ceremonies, a Grande Parade, Renaissance rides, games of skill and so much more.

The 2017 season begins with our "Kids Free Weekend" April 8 & 9, 2017 ? up to three children (ages 5-12) admitted free with each paid adult. Children 4 and under are always free. Seniors 65+ can also get in for half price on opening weekend. Each successive weekend has a different theme and a variety of special events including the Royal Ale Festival, Celtic Weekend, Mother's Day Brunch and Renaissance Romance's Vow Renewal celebrations.

Scarborough Renaissance Festival? offers "Food Fit for a King" that is a step above food offered at most North Texas Festivals and events. Visitors can feast on our famous giant roasted turkey legs (the best you'll ever eat), the largest food-on-a-stick selection in Texas, Scottish Eggs or try some of the daily special creations at our very own Pasta Palace and Scarborough Bakery. Our full service restaurant, the Rose & Crown Inn, offers a sit down dining experience with daily specials and signature items like Shepard's Pie, meat pies and Muffalettas.

Visitors 21 and over can partake in our custom blended Scarborough Mead, beer, wine and other adult beverages at one of the 11 pubs and taverns. There are also daily wine and beer tasting events for those with a more discerning palate. Tastings require a separate ticket that can be purchased in advance or at the Festival (on festival days). Seating is limited and the tasting events regularly sell out so it is recommended that you purchase your tickets in advance.

"Over the course of our 36 seasons, Scarborough Renaissance Festival? has become a tradition for so many people in North Texas because it offers such a wonderful mixture of exciting entertainment, amazing crafts, artisan demonstrations, great food and even a little history!" says Coy Sevier, General Manager. "But what makes Scarborough most unique is that it is totally different than any other event in North Texas and it is so incredibly interactive ? you might even end up in one of the shows! We invite everyone to Come Step Back in Time for the Time of your Life at Scarborough Renaissance Festival? starting on April 8th!"
